This week Carter's teacher wrote me the cutest little note. She said that at lunch Carter was too busy talking that he wasn't eating well. (Imagine that!) So, she decided that moving him away from a few of his favorite friends might help. After she moved him, he stood up on his chair and yelled to her , "oh ya, well you can't come to my house and eat cupcakes!" in his very loud angry voice. She ended the note by saying how much they love Carter and his fun personality. I had Carter take her a cupcake the next day and apologize for yelling at her. We all got a giggle out of that one.
The other night I was reading with Nadya and she was reading about a polar bear who goes to different places. The bear went to New Jersey and I asked her if she new what New Jersey was. She said, "yes, it's like when you are in soccer and you get a "new" jersey!" We all go a laugh out of that one including her, after I showed her New Jersey on a map. We find that Nadya's English is very good, but she is lacking an insane amount of academic vocabulary, which take anywhere from 5-7 years! Yikes! So, while she is doing very well, there are still a lot of holes and some subjects will be very difficult for her because she is lacking the vocabulary. Like science, try explaining force or gravity with out using any big words! It is a challenge!
It sounds like Carter and Annie-Mae came out of the same mould! That sounds like something she would do! Very cute!
