We Love Bob Books and how easy they make their first books for new readers.
In fact, Carter is now reading level one Bob Books, but Alex is reading Everything.
E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G
I've never really thought about what the world looks like to a non-reader until Alex started reading. Everything is new to them. Here are some of Alex's questions these past few months.
Mom, why does that say, Do Not Enter?
What is one way?
Oh, so there is Big Lots!
Does that say Chevron?
Spot free Rinse, what's that?
Stop Renting?? Huh, what is that??
Murray City Park! I read that. That says Murray City Park! Mom are you proud of me?
Yes, I am! I am so proud. Our library trips now consist of finding books for me or Nadya to read to the boys at bedtime and plenty of stories for Alex to read to mom. He loves it. I love it. It is so cool!
This week on the way home from the library, he read if you take a mouse to school.
He read it so well and thought it was really funny.
He even stayed in the Rocket (that's what we call the van) when we got home until he finished.
His teacher has been taking him over to the Kindergarten
room and getting books for him to read.
Yup, he is hot stuff. AND he knows it.
I love that hot stuff!
