Carter's Birthday Celebration at Home the Morning of his Birthday!

Carter’s Birthday Card read……
“It's time 4 birthday fun 4 you,
4 party hats! (Confetti, too!)
It's time 4 songs and yummy cake
and all the wishes you can make!
And don't 4-get it's time to say,
Woo-Hoo! I'm 4!
Hip-hip-hooray!"”
And he couldn’t be prouder.
In fact, upon returning to preschool the following Monday
he excitedly scurried around the room and informed everyone
that he was four now (holding up four fingers)!
“Do you wanna know how old I am? I’m this many!”
It was too cute watching him make his way around the room!
He had such a great day!

We had a shared birthday party with Carter’s good friend
from Preschool considering their birthdays are a day apart.
We reserved the gym and hired a clown.
All the kids got a clown nose, a birthday hat, and the clown
made them their very own balloon animal.
Flowers the clown, started with a puppet show,
then did a magic show and then pulled out the balloons.
Luckily, the kids had the entire gym to run around and play in
while they waited for their turn.
I think a good time was had by all.
Carter and Maddie were very excited
to open their presents and
Carter kept announcing to Maddie
that he was getting cooler gifts than her!
A part of me wanted to remind him to keep quiet,
but in his four year old BOY mind he was
totally getting better gifts for him
considering she is a four year old GIRL!
Carter really doesn’t care much for princess stuff.
No offense to Maddie, as I am quite sure she was
thinking she WAS getting the better end of the deal.
Carter was very excited about his Ben 10 watch
that mom and dad got him and his new “Big Boy” bike as well.
After presents the kids ate cake and drank soda and then
after they were all sugared up, it was time to go home!
(Well, as if they don’t do it to us! he he)
Carter's 4th Birthday Video!
This was the first “big” party we have had for
Carter and I must say it may be the last for a while.
Realistically, it is kind and polite to invite the entire
class but he does not need all the presents.
Although, he WAS in heaven!
Nor do I want him to feel “entitled” to a BIG party every year.
Since turning four Carter has been very
adamant that he is four and can do things on his own.
He now buckles himself up in the car and
has made a comment a few times
that he doesn’t want sippy cups.
This has been a hard subject for me and I am not sure
what exactly is appropriate,
but we are sticking with
the sippy cups for a while longer.
I am sure many people would say four is too old, but Carter
is such a little guy (averages around 10%) and
we saw a significant decrease in the
consumption of milk when we took sippy cups away from Alex.
We are a little concerned about that happening with Carter.
Alex has always been 50-75 % in both height and
weight so this didn’t concern us.
But Carter is a little tyke!
We want to know that we are doing everything possible
to ensure he get the calories he needs daily.
We are currently supplementing with carnation instant breakfast
in the morning and at night to help with this.
We also provide regular cups at meal times,
but allow the sippy cups when we are giving him his
carnation because he doesn’t seem to drink it otherwise.

Very cute, for sure you'll need to show me how to do those pages.
