Memorial Day Weekend!

We started the weekend with a barbecue and the kids played in the back yard. Alex played basketball, and played sticks with Carter.

I taught Nadya a back flip and back handspring on the tramp.
She is now addicted to the tramp, trying to learn new tricks.

The boys found some great sticks for playing with off Dad's tree.
Not too sure how Dad felt about that.

On Monday we took flowers from our garden to Grandma and Grandpa Moser.
Nadya has been wanting to go to Grandma Moser's grave because she knows she is named after her (Nadya Mae and my Grandma was Ella Mae). While we were there I meet my mom's cousin. My Grandma is buried next to my Grandpa and next to her sister, her mother and her son, Terry.

Next we went to see My Grandma Hansen. I am named after her. I took her a single red rose.
I always do. My Grandpa use to tell me a story how my dad use to take her one for her birthday. Her Birthday was in December and my dad was in construction (which is not too lucrative in the winter) so, he would take her a single red rose. My Grandma grew to love this as it wasn't really about the gift, but the thought. Carter took her a yellow rose too. Yellow is his favorite color. Not sure who brought the mums in the water bottle.

We took my dad some Purple Iris's from our garden. I think the boys are finally old enough to understand exactly who is buried here. My dad died when I was twelve. I can't believe how much he has missed out on. When I was little, I use to think my dad was old. But now that I am approaching my dad's age at death, I realize just how young he was.

My three kiddos. I know my dad would have loved being a Grandpa.
Who wouldn't to these adorable kids?

We ended the weekend with another barbecue with Michael and Candi. The kids enjoyed jumping on the tramp with Michael. It was so good to visit with them. Something we don't get to do very often, but wish we could. If only we lived closer to these guys. (hint, hint)
