A Surprise Adventure- Part One

Our Church launched a new campus last Sunday in Sandy. We woke up Sunday morning and told the kids we were going to the new campus for church and that it was far away. We had the car packed and we loaded up for our adventure. The kids were complaining about how far it was and kept asking questions as to why we had so much stuff with us. They entertained themselves by playing games, watching movies and asking us when we would be there!

We arrived in Las Vegas and told them we had a surprise for them. We checked into our hotel (Circus Circus) and went downstairs to play games in the arcade. Alex was the first one to win an animal! He was excited!

We played games, watched a "mini" circus and ate pizza. Later we went back to our room and watched a movie. The kids tuckered out and fell asleep. The boys fell asleep with their new animal friends.

The next morning, we loaded up in the car and told the kids we were going home. Only, we were actually on our way to sunny California. We told them we had to make a stop to pick up an important package.....

We stopped at IHOP and Carter was very excited about chocolate chip pancakes with smiley face bacon. Imagine their surprise when they spotted Aunt Diana and Uncle Joe from Iowa. Hallie was very confused and said, "Are we going to Iowa?"

Ummmm.... No Hallie- WRONG WAY! But, they are coming with us! Next stop???????

The Beach House!

I know, life is tough! We had to spend the next five days here! Our favorite beach get away!

If you have ever thought about staying on Mission Bay Beach, I highly recommend it.

The weather was great, the water was warm-ish and the kids LOVED the beach!

And to think.....  this was just the FIRST day on the beach!
