Alex's Birthday Party!

The Invitation-
Alex and his best friend share the same birthday so we did a combined party again.  It works out so well!  We did a super hero theme.

We had their party at the Classic Fun Center.   First off, the boys went straight to the arcade.

Then They played on the Blow ups!

Time for a break- Pizza and Cupcakes!  Yummy!

We decided to do a book exchange instead of gifts this year. Last year the gift giving was really more than we needed.  The kids enjoyed it.  We will definitely do it again!

The two  birthday boys exchanged gifts with each other.  We made sure it was the same gift considering it was on both of their lists.  They got each other a Pixo Studio.  I read the reviews before buying  and they were mixed.  Some loved it and some hated it!  I must say I am happy with it. Alex loves it.  The  pixo creations don't dry very quickly and they don't stay together very well either, but Alex loves making designs so much that it doesn't really matter how long they stay together anyway.  (I wouldn't want to store them all either)

Finally, Alex decided he would go into the blast zone.  He was a bit timid at first because he thought the balls would hurt him.  Once he watched it long enough and was able to see what it was all about, he was ready to go in.  The blast zone is an area with guns and the kids run around and get strofoam balls and then they load them in the guns and blast each other.  The balls are big and the guns are stationary and they have slides and fun things to run thru while you are running around gathering balls or avoiding them.  Alex was proud because he didn't get hit.  This was his favorite part, by far.  A boys dream come true.  We will definitely go back for more blast zone action!

More to come on Alex's Family Celebration!

And I LOVE the book exchange idea. My sister did the same thing. I'll have to remember that for future birthdays!
