The kids asked if they could have ONE roll of toilet paper for a project. I was busy painting the kitchen and was happy to oblige. I mean, after all, they were entertaining themselves and it did not involve the television. So, they wrapped themselves like mummies. I tried to encourage them to find something else to do with the toilet paper after wards, but it ended up in a plastic bag to use another time. I love how well my kids play together. Honestly, they really do well and get along about 90% of the time. I'll take that!
Artificial Twins
My artificial twins. Did I ever mention that there is a name for them? When two children are within 9 months apart (they are four months apart) and one or both of them are adopted, they are called artificial twins. They get along really well for the most part. They were "twinning" it up the other day when they came out of their rooms in matching outfits and decided to tie themselves together for the duration of the day. So, my artificial twins turned into conjoined twins. Talk about a great lesson on compassion. Hallie remarked several times through out the day how difficult it would be to be conjoined. I explained it would be, but for true conjoined twins, they do not know life any differently and learn to adapt quite well. They couldn't just "untie" the knot to go to the bathroom, to put on a shirt or when one child needed to go to gymnastics. True conjoined twins have to learn a lot about give and take. I thought it was great that the girls wanted to spend so much time with each other. Alex, however, was feeling left out so towards the end of the day they untied and took turns being tied to Alex.
Cute Girls!
