Carter has been going through a tough, tired, four year old stage. He is no longer napping, but can be very tired at night and ends up very tired and grouchy as a result. We have tried pushing up bedtime to 7:30, but he ends up waking up early instead and ends up with the same amount of sleep. I remember this stage with Alex too, but it seems more challenging with Carter. Perhaps it is just because it is fresh in my memory, who knows. None the less, I wanted to spend some one on one time with him and had the opportunity today. I have Monday and Fridays off and try and keep Carter home from Pre-Kindergarten as much as possible on those days to give him some down town so that's exactly what I did today. Except I asked Carter what he would like to do with me today. Something special. He chose Fat Cats. We played a few games in the arcade and then had lunch at the pizzeria. (My friend, Kris joined us for lunch). They have yummy bread-sticks!!!!! Carter didn't eat much of his pasta, but he sure picked at my salad. He loved the peas, tomatoes, olives and croutons. He told me I could have the lettuce. The food at Fat Cats is just okay, but it is a fun place to take the kids. The bread sticks are very good, but everything else is just average. Maybe even semi-average in my opinion. Afterward he played arcades again. One of his favorite activities.
He was excited to spend his tickets and
he purchased a wallet, a key chain and
an eraser for his Sister.
After we took him to get his hair-cut. He was really in need of one. His hair grows so quickly. His dad calls him a hair farmer. As we were leaving, Carter said, "Mom, now that I have a wallet I should probably start doing chores to earn money for my wallet!" Cute, cute, boy! ♥ him
