Easter

*Dyeing Easter Eggs*
(Hallie was at her moms this year for coloring eggs and I know some of the eggs are a funky shade of brown.  The boys were experimenting with mixing colors.)

*Easter Baskets*
* Found Em!!!!*
The girls woke up at 6:00 AM and searched for over an hour and still couldn't find their baskets.  They were not happy about that.  I told them it was probably because when we checked on them last night at 11:30 they were still awake.  They claimed they were too excited to go to sleep.  I told them the Easter Bunny was probably mad as he probably tried to come earlier and couldn't.  Alex woke up and found his basket within a few minutes.  It was on the top shelf of his closet.  The girls didn't find Alex's basket in all their searching so they couldn't believe how quickly Alex found his.

The girls wore their candy necklaces as headbands and said that together they looked like a watermelon.  Each of them in their favorite colors pink and green.

The boys loved, loved, loved their lego alien space ship that was in their basket.

(Carter is putting his together and refused to do anything else until it was finished.)

We ate breakfast and then headed outside to hunt eggs.
In the snow!
Nadya was freezing, but wised up and got one of Dad's hoodies.

The boys  had fun searching and actually found more eggs than their sisters this year.  In the past years, we would tell the girls to leave the easier ones for the boys, but this year it was game on.  It was funny though, Hallie actually tried to tell her brother he had found enough and couldn't find anymore.  Nice try.  It didn't work.  If you want to find eggs in our family, you'd better move because Alex was in his element! And the age difference in not nearly as dramatic as say age 3 and 9.  Six year olds can easily find as many eggs as ten year olds.

Until Carter decided Alex had found too many eggs too.

It didn't last long and they were both back to finding eggs!

The girls took a break to warm up next to the fire.

Our backyard is so much fun for egg hunts!
The kids get to hike all over the place and climb up and down!

Carter found the last egg so we told the boys they got to stand on the top step for a group picture since they found the most eggs.  It wasn't really about that at all, but it got Carter to pose for a picture.  The girls caught on quickly and didn't mind at all in helping out.  Plus, the boys really did find more eggs.

And, if you don't like the Spring weather in Utah just wait a couple hours and it will be completely different!

See, the snow is gone and the kids are happily playing with their bubble wands.

We finished our morning with a great church service and then headed over to my moms for a yummy dinner.  It was a great Easter!

  3. Those baskets really are adorable!

And, the girls do rather make one think of watermelon...but maybe it is because you said so. Something sweet, anyway!

  4. Baskets are from Pottery Barn. We bought them three years ago and just continue to "recycle" them.
