The Sixth Grade Sock Hop

Hallie's school traditionally has a sixth grade sock hop for Valentine's Day.
Hallie was less than thrilled.  She was actually dreading it!
Luckily, she warmed up and enjoyed herself.  She didn't want any of us
to come and see her, but I couldn't resist.  At first, she ignored me or danced around
her friends and ducked in between them in attempt to hide from me.
And when I resorted to calling her name in attempt to get her to look at the camera,
she pretended like she didn't hear me.  Even her friends tried to help me out.
(Notice the "tap" on the back.  Her friend was trying to get Hallie's attention for me. It didn't work.)

Finally I asked Hallie if she wanted  pictures of this event later on in life.
She said yes, and warmed up to the camera.
Thank goodness!!

They started off with a bunch of group dancing.

Hallie won the Hula Hoop Competition!

There were other fun events too-
and just hanging out with friends!

It was so much fun!
I am so glad I got to be present for this event!
It was a little glimpse into the teenage years.
Ready or not, here they come!!!!!
