Vegas Baby.... With Kids???

Okay, so I had to update my post after Rachel's Comment.
We always pass through Vegas on the way to California and the kids and I always want to stop.
Doug never wants to stop.  He blames it on Vegas not being kid friendly.
But really that's just an excuse....  He just can't stand driving and stopping.
He likes to do it all in one day if he can.
To some degree Vegas isn't kid friendly,
(Like when Alex asked me what the sign meant when he read "Hot Babes!")
He came up with his own innocent idea and we just went with it.
My friend Kris makes regular trips down to Vegas as her good friend lives there.
She invited us and showed us all the fun kid things you can do in Vegas.
Thanks Kris for doing it all again with us!

The girls had core testing and couldn't miss school, (Boo)
so I just took the boys.
Kris has a son two years old than Alex so we technically had three boys- 9,7, and 6.

We stopped in Beaver for the traditional picture in the big rocking chair.
The boys were great in the car and pretty much played their video games or watched movies.
(Well, Alex read too, of course!)
Alex was the first one to fall asleep.
We went to Billy Springs the next day for lunch and to walk around.
The highlight at lunch was the bathrooms.
The tub had been converted into a urinal.
The boys are just posing....
I didn't take a picture of them peeing.
Even though they did use it, and they LOVED it!

We walked around and explored and went for a small hike.
We told the boys to watch out for rattlesnakes and then tricked them
by throwing rocks and sticks into the bushes when they weren't looking.
We got them!  They screamed and scurried together!
We drove to Boulder and had breakfast at some famous coffee place.
(The name has slipped my memory)
We walked around the car show and went to see Hoover Dam.
Carter was the Dare Devil and Alex just wanted off the Bridge!
I wanted them both off too!
I hated the feeling of my kids not being safe.
I know they were safe, but still!!!!!!
Alex wouldn't pose with me by the edge.
In fact, he just walked off, so we followed.
The boys were so excited to walk the strip and go to the M&M and Coca Cola Factory.
That was the one thing they were looking forward to the most.
The boys loved the movie at the M&M Factory and
we splurged and got the float sampler at the Coca Cola Factory!

My favorite was the Grape Float, Alex loved the Orange float and Carter the Mountain Dew!
The boys got to meet Mario!!!!!!!
They were excited about that!!!!!
The boys insisted in going up the Coca Cola Elevator at NIGHT!
The strip is always so pretty with all the lights!
Just try and get wiggly kids to hold still for a night picture!!!!!!!
The boys loved Vegas at night!
We saw the lions!  And they were awake!
The were licking the glass, and the boys had fun pretending they were licking their hands!
We also saw the aquarium at the Silverton.
We showed up at the perfect time.
Feeding Time!
Watching them hand feed the sting rays was amazing!!!!!!
After watching the Sting Rays,
the boys were not very impressed with the mermaid at all.
But the cute little girls were mesmerized with her!
And of course we stopped by Game works.....
The kids got a card to play for an hour.
They were in heaven!
The boys are all ready to go back,
but the girls said it's their turn!!!!!!

Poor Doug......  He stayed home to this........
Snow and Plumbing Problems.... Fun, fun....

  1. OK...that is so not what I think when I hear "Vegas, Baby!" lol.

I had no idea there were so many kid-friendly Vegas options! Cool!
