November Update 2009 - Alex turns Five!

Okay, bad mom. I have heard second source complaining about not updating my blog. Well, let's just say I have good reasons. Our basement is looking great and between working, FOUR kids, remodeling, and the winter blah, life has been busy. I am happy however, to update the blog completely if I have any willing and able bodies to take my kids for me. Any takers????
Anyways, I will just tell everyone my news years resolution right up front so I can't forget about it; To update the blog monthly and then to print it off at the end of the year, sounds, (in theory) like a great plan, right??

Well, let's start with November! Big month, my big guy turned five. Yes, FIVE! Unbelievable! He is such an amazing little boy and has gotten so big this year. He takes care of his own backpack every morning when I drop him off at school putting both his folders in the proper basket and then taking his lunch out and hanging his backpack up. His teacher is extra picky and even makes them zip up their bag. It's adorable. He LOVES pre-kindergarten and is learning so much. Every week he tells me all about what he has learned. He has learned all about harvest time, the seasons, George Washington, Martin Luther King, Hibernation, and so much more. He can add on his fingers up to 10, reads Bob Books, reads Kindergarten sight words, is writing so well and will attempt to spell and does pretty good for five. He still has his same two best friends, Audran and Ryan. His teachers call them the three musketeers. He has such a sweet, soft, lovable personality and is a true honor to parent. I never thought a little boy could be so cuddly. He just melts my heart. Here is a picture of Alex, Audran and his teacher, Mrs. Tiffany.

His Birthday was really fun and I must say pretty easy this year. Alex's good buddy, Audran has the same Birthday so Audran's mom and myself took the Three Musketeers to see BOLT in 3D and then to dinner at The Mayan. The boys had a blast and it so funny to see them ducking and reaching out for the objects in the movie. They really enjoyed their time at the mayan and watching all the divers. I've attached a few pictures for you all to see. Here they are at the movies and at the Mayan.
Here are a few pictures of Alex's Family Birthday Celebration. He was very excited to get his Martian Alien Maker, (which was the best 15 dollars I've spent in a while!) and his Marble Race way. He really wanted a video game, and being the mom that I am, he got an educational Leapster instead. He really has enjoyed it though and it is great to take on road trips, doctor appointments and such. Carter has really enjoyed it as well. There is also a picture of Alex with his "Skateboard Guy Cake." This year when we asked him which piece he wanted, he replied, "I want the Guy!" Well, you only turn five once, right??? What an amazing boy! Five is truly Fantastic!
