Christmas Eve!!!!!!
I would love to post more pictures,but blogger has changed and I can't figure out how to upload multiple pictures (more than 5) again and I just don't seem to have the patience. But,these will do the trick. More pics will be added to my blurb book. We had a great Christmas Eve which started in the afternoon at 2:00. Doug and I both served at church and then we both attended a service as well. Which put us home around 6:00. We had a great dinner with My Uncle David and then the kids FINALLY were able to open the packages from Aunt Georgia and Uncle Hank, and Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. We've sort of made it a tradition to open these on Christmas Eve because there is usually so much confusion as to who is from who on Christmas morning and the kids do a much better job of playing with their new stuff. Doug's mom sent one of Doug's favorite books as a child. Cute, cute. The kids all enjoyed seeing it and got a great laugh out of the fact that Daddy misspelled his name. We opened our gifts and the kids had a great time. We had a great time.

The girls received some fun crafts and socks with money in them....Alex got a new book which he devoured in less than a day. (Actually he read 1/2 of it that night and it was a longer chapter book) Carter received some fun building stuff and dinosaurs that grow in water which he immediately opened and started to grow them. Both boys got a light up sucker which they thought was pretty fun too! And as a family we received a bike rack that will hold 5 bikes for our bike riding adventures. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! We are looking forward to using it this Spring!) Oh, and I almost forgot!  The kids got a few DVD's one of which included Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as they watched and (alex loved) this movie last summer in Iowa.

The girls each received a fun book with quizzes and answers and they each grabbed a pen and begin working with it. It was a hit! They've really enjoyed them and have fun giving all the quizzes to everyone. Here they are working in them with their cute, Christmas Eve hair. (You really can only wear curling ribbon at Christmas time, right?)

And of course Alex had to track Santa right before he went to bed.  Santa was in the Midwest so we knew we had better get to bed.  We left Russian tea and Russian Cookies out for Santa.  We figured he would get plenty American Cookies and Milk.  Here is a picture of Alex tracking Santa.

I almost forgot!!!!!  One last picture with their Christmas Jammies.  Another Christmas Tradition!  Carter didn't make the picture unfortunately.  He was too tired and too grumpy and was sent to bed before Santa changed his mind about coming for a visit.

    Love that you put out Russian treats. So neat! {That mission trip sure changed your life. That is so awesome}

    How fun that your husband's mom sent that book he read as a kid. I love sentimental things like that.

    And no, I don't know why it doesn't upload more than 5? I'm just glad you showed me about that feature.

    And how fun to have a blurb party with all your girlfriends. What a great idea!
