My sweet girlfriends treated me to a Pedicure on Saturday before my birthday and then out to brunch after. Spoiled, spoiled! It was so nice to get away and have girl time. Much, much needed girl time. I love these two girls and I never get enough of them!
On the Eve of my birthday I woke up at around 12:45 AM to the sounds of Carter coughing. It was one of those, better-run-quick-that-doesn’t- sound-like-a-regular-cough-cough. It wasn’t. Carter was sick, sick, sick. Poor Thing. He was up several more times through out the night. Come morning, Alex claimed he didn’t feel so great either. So, I spent my birthday day, home with two boys who seemed fine for a few hours and then sick the next. Go figure. Carter took a pretty good nap for me and he never naps. I suspect he was pretty tired after the fun night we both had. Here they are on my birthday, watching a movie with a barf bowl in-between them.
That evening, we ordered Sushi. Yummy! Hallie officially joined the sushi eating clan. She loved it.
Alex was willing to try the sushi and actually ate a few california rolls but we picked up Arbys for them just to be on the safe side.
Afterwards we had cupcakes. Yummy cupcakes. We frosted them yellow, my favorite color. Thanks for the link, Shannon for the birthday flags. (I know they were not meant to be flags, but that’s what the boys wanted.)
The boys helped me open my presents while Nadya took pictures. All of these pictures were taken with my little point and shoot as I don’t allow my kids to use my Canon. (I know, I really need to work on sharing!) I got a new video camera, (well, sort of.) Doug couldn’t decide which one so he wrapped the reviews/prices and we are narrowing it down. I am pretty sure we are going to go with the Canon Vixia. My good friend, Jen, has one and loves it. Plus, the reviews are all great! We really need a new video camera. Our original camera is 11 years old. Doug purchased it right before Hallie was born.
I also received three new varieties of coffee from Spoons and Spice and Dave Ramsey’s book, Financial Peace. Doug and I just started listening to Dave Ramsey and we just started using emealz, which I love. Not for the money savings necessarily, but for how simple it is. Three easy steps and your dinners are planned for the entire week! 1. Print menu 2. Go the the store 3. Choose one delicious, simple meal each night. Easy, easy, easy! We already do many of what Dave Ramsey recommends but it should be a good read. You can never be too money wise, right?
The card reads sissy two. When Josh was little he use to call my sister and I Sissy one and Sissy two. Love him! (please pretend I closed the drapes. Our nicely tarped boat serves as a wonderful backdrop, doesn’t it?)
On a side note, if you are not using windows live writer to write your posts, you are missing out. No more uploading pictures, many, many more options and a real live preview of what your post will look like prior to posting! I just came across it and I am loving it!
UPDATE:
I just figured out that if you don't have windows live writer, you can't see the new font and my layout looks a ton different on a widescreen computer than it does on my laptop. Boo hoo!!!!! So, I am obviously still learning with windows live writer. I fixed it, but I still like all the options with live writer and the fact that you can see an actual preview before posting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you benefited from the happy birthday cupcake toppers!
So spoiled for your birthday! How fun, you deserve it!
You are my go-to for blog updates. I went to the link and was unsure though what to do. I'll have to email you for a play by play of what to do.
Anyway, sounds like a great day!
p.s nice blog make-over! you may have done it a while ago? has it been too long since I've left a comment? Anyway, love it!
ReplyDeleteNo, not too long. I keep playing around with it. So time consuming! Anyway, just download the link and it will ask you what you want to download. I just downloaded the live writer. After, reboot your computer and launch it. (I had to go to my start up menu and create a short cut) Then it will prompt you to enter your blog address and it goes and finds it. (Check the box to remember your password so you don't have to reenter it all the time) after that it is pretty easy to find your way around. Your preview actually shows you a preview inside your blog and you have so many more options for fonts, picture size, borders, ect. It uploads you pics super fast and then you post it to your blog. Afterwards you go into your dashboard and hit publish. Let me know if you run into any problems with it. I am still learning it myself, but I am happy to help you if I can.
