I
Aunt Georgia decided to stop in and see the kids while she was traveling this Summer.
It really was a good idea, because Aunt Georgia was becoming a blur in all of the kids' mind except for Hallie. In fact, when I told Nadya Aunt Georgia was coming for a visit, she gleefully yelled, "AUNT Georgia is COMING for a VISIT?" Followed by a dazed and confused look, "Wait........ Who's Aunt Georgia?" Aunt Georgia said she was a bit worried about that kind of response, which is exactly why she thought a visit was needed. Well, Trust me....... The kids definitely know who Aunt Georgia is now.
We decided to take Aunt Georgia boating
and we had a fantastic time.
The girls decided to try wake boarding, and did really well. Both of them got up out of the water, but they haven't figured out how to turn the board and actually ride it. I was really surprised they got up though, as I think that's the hardest part. Hallie was a bit timid at first and actually just let go of the rope after she got up. I guess she just wasn't ready to actually be towed, and then she never quite accomplished getting to that point again. Really, all she needed to do was hang on and enjoy the ride. Once after Hallie fell and her board was behind her and try and she could, she couldn't get her board under her and back infront again. It's a bit tricky so Nadya jumped in and helped her. After helping her twice, Hallie had it figured out.
Nadya could get up, but tipped one way or the other
and couldn't find her balance.
The girls both tried water skiing too. Aunt Georgia was a good sport and got in the water to assist. Once again, Hallie was completely up and out of the water, but didn't hang on for long. Nadya really struggled with the big skis and her skinny little legs. They were very difficult for her to manage. We really need to get a pair of kid skis because I think the girls would do much better with smaller skis. They are both so close to actually skiing! So besides skiing there was plenty of swimming!
Carter was the first one in the water this time!
Go Carter!
(Side note... I am pretty impressed with my little point and shoot. I was able to capture action shots just by selecting the sport mode. I thought for sure I would get a blurry mess, but it did a great job!)

And of course the girls tubed!
Alex and Carter just play in the tube, but the girls do it all!
Hallie caught a dragon fly-
The boys enjoyed fishing, hanging out on the beach,
swimming, driving the boat, and Carter caught a frog that provided lots of entertainment.
(Alex pulled out the Lake Powell Proclamation and began reading it. It is so funny how he can always find something to read regardless of where we are!)Aunt Georgia got her workout by gathering rocks
and spelling out Alex's name.
Alex was so busy playing it took a
while before he even noticed it.

SO fun! How do you get all of your pictures side by side like that? You're like a pro blogger to top the amazing photography! lol
ReplyDeleteMcCall- I was going to facebook you, but I can't find you??? Anyway, first you need to expand your blog. You need to find a template that gives you more space for your pics. Check blogger's design center for a template and then click on advanced (I think) and there is a place where you can widen your post area with a slider.
ReplyDeleteSecond, check out picasa. Google it. It's free and you can create colleges and easily post them to your blog. Very simple and once you get it figured out it is super easy and much faster than bloggers PAINFULLY slow upload!
I know I'm sorry, I had to temporarily delete it but I will for sure add you back when I set up a new one. Thanks for the Kristy tips! lol once I'm able to sit down and figure it out I will let you know how it goes:)
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
p.s have you tried the free editing site picnik?
my #'s 801-209-1712 btw.
