We arrived home from Iowa in August to a nice surprise-
Volunteer Pumpkins!
They slowly took over our front flower bed as you can see in this picture.
And eventually we had these!
The kids had been begging for weeks to carve pumpkins but we kept telling them it was too soon.
So, when they finally got to carve them they were beyond excited!
This was the first year I didn't have to jump in and help.
Both boys carved their own pumpkins all by themselves. :)
It was a beautiful thing!
As you can see the weather was great. Jackets were not necessary and real shoes were optional.
Goofing off was encouraged!
And pumpkin seeds were roasted!
The child who carved the most pumpkins..........

My Pumpkin Carving Crew!
TRICK OR TREATING
We went with Homemade costumes for Halloween this year.
I made Nadya's first. It was a furry, teen Elmo Costume.
Nadya and all her friends decided to dress up as Sesame Street Characters.
She found a costume online that was way overpriced so we took our money to the fabric store.
I am not sure I will make a furry costume EVER again!
My living room looked like Elmo exploded, but it was worth it!
She was the cutest teen Elmo I've ever seen!
They were the cutest Sesame Street Characters!
The boys decided to be Lego pieces after I saw the idea online.
They were so excited about their costumes and they were super easy to make.
Their costumes were a hit! Hallie liked the idea so much that she decided to join the fun!
She was a green Lego of course!
I was lucky enough to have the day off to spend the morning at school with the kids.
It's always fun to watch the parade and help out with the parties!
We went Trunk or Treating at the boys' old school.
I love how welcomed they are at all the events.
We discovered that trunk or treating can be challenging when you are a
little Lego and the candy is down low!
It was quite entertaining!
On Halloween Night, I had a houseful as usual. It's always a fun time!
Goofy pictures for fun!
We were lucky to have great weather and the kids trick or treated longer than they ever have before!
Our Neighbor always goes all out for Halloween!
We only spotted a few ghosts that night.....
The boys lasted about an hour before they took their Lego box off.
Then they became creative with their costumes. At first they were a raspberry and a blueberry,
then they were B.Y.U. and U of U players, then Carter decided he was a candy thief.

(And still claims he will be trick or treating as a candy thief next year!)
Josie wore the red Lego and went as Lego Cleopatra for a few blocks.
Then she got bored and went as rock star Cleopatra.
The kids ended up with entirely too much candy.
Some of which I may have raided while they were sleeping!
But at least I didn't eat it all like these parents did!
