Nadya's birthday fell very close to a home meet for the Red Rocks,
so she celebrated with her friends at the meet!
First off, we had pizza and opened presents at home.
Next we headed up to the Huntsman Center for the meet.
The girls walked around and goofed off a bit before the meet begun.
We snacked on kettlecorn and ice cream during the meet!
The Red Rocks won and afterwards you could wait in line for autographs so we did.
They only do this once a year, so we were feeling very lucky to have been there!
The line was long and we were dead last! The girls kept themselves entertained finding ticket stubs
because you could redeem them for a pass of all pass for only $9.95. We were lucky enough to find enough to get passes for everyone and their families! Woo Hoo!
It also worked out great that we were last in line because we got to spend much more time
with the gymnasts. We even witnessed a fan propose to Nansy Damianova.
(She gracefully declined, but it made for a memorable night!)
Nadya was so excited to get autographs!
They all got a team poster autographed by the entire team.
Nadya's favorite part of the evening???
Obtaining this photo!
It was THE perfect party for a gymnastic loving teenager!
Those girls don't look much older than Nadya! I think you should caption Nadya's name on the photo as well, i can totally see her in couple years signing autographs herself!
ReplyDeleteAnd that girl - Nancy Damianova - her last name's russian, huh?
The Red Rocks are college gymnasts at the University of Utah, so they are at least 5-7 years older than Nadya. Nansy is from Canada, so I am not sure about her last name.
