Alex's birthday landed on a Sunday this year,
and as a result he partied all weekend long!
We started the festivities Saturday morning at Classic Fun Center
where we celebrated Alex's good friends birthday.
(They share the same birthday)
(They share the same birthday)
It was great for Alex to reconnect with some old Kindergarten
friends from last year.
The party started off to a great start.
But it took a turn for the worse in less than five minutes.
I walked outside to swap out booster seats with a friend and returned to find Audran's mom franticallysearching for her purse. She had it sitting on the top of the table, and turned her head for a momentto speak to the party planner and looked back a few minutes later and discovered it was gone.
Just like that.
We both starting searching and realized rather soon that it was stolen.
She immediately reported it to the management.
(I might add that I was a little bit shocked when I arrived to the party. I was able to wonder right on in. No check in, no wrist bands, no checks and balances at all.... I've been to several parties at classic and usually you check in at the front counter before you are allowed in. I am not sure why that procedure wasn't in place, but for what ever reason, it wasn't)
Kirsten called the police to report it stolen and while we were waiting for them to show up and take her report the garbages were being checked, the front parking lot was scanned and Kirsten's husband made all the phone calls to cancel her credit cards and brand new droid phone. About ten minutes into the search it occured to Kirsten that Classic has security cameras so she asked them to check them. Turns out, they had the entire crime on tape.
A nice looking man, around the age of 40, walked into the center and left with her bag in less than five minutes. He walked around for a few minutes, saw her purse, stood about ten feet away from us and played on his phone waiting for Kirsten to turn her head and when she did he removed his jacket, threw it over her purse and picked up his jacket and purse and walked out the door. In fact, he walked right by me as I was walking back in from swaping out booster seats. Argh!!! He then drove off in his nice silver Honda Oddysey.
I was shocked! He did not fit the profile I had created in my head! Needless to say, the police have the video and hopefully it will lead to an arrest. I sure hope so. Kirsten really had a great attitude and continued to celebrate her son's birthday. All in all, we were all thankful it was just a purse and not a kid. But still, it is such a hassle to replace everything in your wallet not to mention he took a rather expensive purse. (I doubt he has any clue!)
Criminals suck!
We continued to celebrate after Audran's party.
Alex invited a few friends to see Mega Mind in 3d.
They loved it.
They ate popcorn, drank bug juice, watched the movie, and giggled.
Afterwards we went back to our place and ate hotdogs, played, opened presents, and enjoyed cupcakes and ice creams.
Alex started celebrating at 10:00AM and his last friend left at about 6:00PM.
Lucky Kid!
Next Post- His 7th Birthday Celebration with the family.
I cannot believe that! I was there with Jodi Butler & her clan at 2:00pm that same day for her sons birthday party! That is crazy it happened that morning right before we got there. So sorry to hear.
