Thanksgiving

For the first time since I can remember, we celebrated Thanksgiving by ourselves.
Everyone else was out of town. It was strange, but we enjoyed it.
I woke up late and was dreading the idea of prepping the turkey and rushing to get it in the oven.
To my surprise, I discovered it was already in the oven. My husband is great!
So, I had coffee and read the paper instead. Now, that's my kind of morning.
The kids helped set the table and did a great job! My pie didn't turn out so great. I cooked it almost 25 minutes longer than the recipe called for and we still ended up throwing it back in the oven after we cut in to it. Strange. It was still really good when it was all said and done, just had a different color to it. Good thing my husband will eat anything........ No, really it was good despite its odd coloring.

Carter is at the table, but you can't see him.  

He is behind Doug and next to Nadya.
