Gotcha!!!!!

We celebrated Nadya's 4th Gotcha Day!

She is normally quite excited for this day, but this year she completely forgot!

She got a new bag for school, a "Gotcha Day" Outfit and

 a few other fun surprises tucked away in her bag.

I still can't believe it has been four years!

She has come such a long way in 4 short years!

We love you Miss Mae and we are so happy we found you!

August 14th marked Nadya's 3rd Gotcha Day!

I still can't believe how quickly these three years have gone.

We wouldn't trade her for anything.

She was truly meant for our family.

The three year gotcha date also meant

our final post placement report.

Yay!

Of course we celebrated!!!!!!

We started the morning off with Gotcha Day presents!

Mostly clothes (since she got a lot of clothes on her original gotcha day),

a bracelet making kit and an umbrella. 

It was a great day!  Aunt Georgia was in town visiting and it 

also happened to be Doug's company work party at Snowbird Ski Resort.

There was bull riding- Or Bull Bucking!

Nadya did a double back after a little encouragement, Alex did a flip, and

Carter jumped high while talking to the attendant!

(I was so proud of Alex for attempting this.  A year ago, he would have never tried this.  Even if he did get scared, he stayed up and tried the different paths the entire time.  He didn't get too far, but he gets an "A" for effort! )

Nadya was a pro, but Carter was too little.  

(Story of his life!!!!)

We ended the evening at Red Robins, Nadya's choice.

Gotcha Day # 2!

 

So, August 14th marked Nadya's Second Gotcha Day!  Second?  Wow!  Doug took the day off work because I had new teacher training and he and the boys ran over to a Russian Candy Store and bought Nadya plenty of Russian Candy!  (At this point, she had completely spaced of Gotcha Day and we didn't mention anything because we thought a surprise would be fun!)  So, after they returned - with the candy in their possession, Carter came running in with his sack full of Candy and yelled in his  LOUD Carter Voice-  

"GOTCHA!!!!"  

and handed over the bag of candy!

Then he took all FOUR, yes four kids to lunch at a Russian Restaurant for Borscht.  (unfortunately, I was not there to capture the moment in photos!)

Nadya was thrilled to have Borscht.
(Borscht is a Russian soup with Cabbage and beets that she had quite often in the orphanage.)

That night we baked brownies, Sang Happy Gotcha Day (to the tune of Happy Birthday) and opened presents.  She always gets a Gotcha Day Dress- as she got the day we went to court and she also got new jammies, new flip flops, and a  new gymnastics leotard.  We still can't believe it has been
2 years.  Time flies!
