New Years Eve

We bundled up the kids and took trax downtown to see the lights.  Here we are at the trax station.  My Uncle David is being goofy!!!!!

On The Trax...  (this cost more money than driving for all of us,
but it's part of the fun for the kids!)

A group picture...  So unlike me, but I didn't take many pics...
My battery died....but the girls brought their cameras and we got a group picture at least!

The boys, myself, David, Kris and Laurence came home early and picked up pizza and movies and stayed up until 12:00 (all but Carter who didn't make it past 10 and was teary eyed the next morning when he realized.  He said "It's not fair it was just because I can't tell time yet!"    I felt bad for him.)  The Girls, Daddy and Aunt Misty stayed Down Town for a few more hours and walked around and ate dinner.  Then they came home and stayed up past 12:00.  Luckily, the kids were all in pretty good moods the next morning and slept in!

Last Few Days In Washington 2009

The next day I meet up with my good childhood friend, Becky.
It has probably been close to 20 years since we've seen each other. Crazy how time flies.
We have recently stayed in touch through facebook.

This is a picture of my son Alex and her son, Jaden.  They are both the same age.
It took them a while to warm up to each other, but after a little bit they had fun playing.

Here they are looking at the map.
We left and decided to try the new 2 billion dollar light rail system.
We rode back into down town Seattle and walked around a bit.
Here is Alex on the light rail and a picture with his otter pop that he bought
because it was HOT!
They were doing construction and this steam roller was parked on the side of the road.
Uncle David put Alex in it for a picture.  I was worried we were going to get yelled at!
We left the next day and said our goodbyes.  We had a great visit and can't wait to do it again!

Washington 2009 Part 2

Ferry Ride Leaving Vashon-

So, we left Vashon and headed for Tacoma, but on the way we found this-
Misty's First Grey hair!  She laughed and then I found  a bunch more!
We had dinner at Anthony's-  Where Alex was adventurous  and ordered prawns.
Took a spin around the track!

Went back to Magrethe's and spent some time visiting.
The next day we were off to Pike's Place
and bought bracelets as souvenirs for the kids!

Ordered some Ice cream for Misty and Alex
But, David and I treated ourselves to starbucks instead!
Magrethe spent the morning with us-
We took the bus to the space needle
Where we explored and and found the rides!
Alex was brave and rode his first roller coaster!  He LOVED it!
We had a blast on this-  Ride the Ducks
These things go on land and water

The next day we headed to Wenatchee and spent the day with my Cousins-
Alex played the wii drums for the first time ever.....
Our time with them went too fast and we said our goodbyes.
We had a great dinner with friends of my Uncle Davids.

and ended our evening in the pool!  Alex loved that!
Beautiful Wenathchee!
On our way back to Seattle we stopped in Leavenworth-

and we saw the Salmon jumping-

Trying their hardest to make their way over this-
Truly Amazing!
