Singing and Gingerbread Houses!

Before Christmas Vacation the girls and Alex participated in their schools Holiday Program.  Alex was up first, but only the 5th and 6th graders were on the stage, so you couldn't really see him, but he was there.  It was rather disappointing that I couldn't see him, but I really couldn't do anything about it because of where his class was positioned in the auditorium.   I still took a few pictures and I videod it too.  I am only sharing the pictures though because the program was rather long when you had to sit through three grades totalThey sang a cute song about a cookie snatcher.
It was easy to see him once they were all sitting back down.  Argh!!!!!

The girls were up next.  But, I should really start at the beginning.  That morning they dressed  in their festive green and white striped sweaters from last year.  (So different than Alex.  I couldn't even BRIBE him to wear his sweater!)  The girls also asked if I would do their hair.  We attempted a cute hair do with a Christmas Wreath from this blog.  I think they turned out well for our first attempt. The girls are getting so big that I am enjoying the few time they actually ask me to do their hair because I know it will end soon.  :(

They sang two songs- "I want a hot cup of cocoa" and "All I want for Christmas is Chocolate in my stocking."   It was nice that I could see them both mostly.  Doug and I had fun teasing them that night about how easy their wish will be.  No gifts, just chocolate.  My kind of girls!  (If only they meant what they sang!)

Later that evening we decorated Gingerbread houses.  Our village came with five houses so we invited Laurence over too.  It went pretty well, but was rather chaotic at times with five kids needing the frosting at once. (Thanks for all your help Kris!!) I had suggested the girls wait until the boys were done, but they were both too impatient.

The Finished Houses

So, that means the songs are sung, the gingerbread houses are decorated and the fudge is in the freezer!
I think we are officially ready for Christmas!
