I've come along way as a parent.
A very long way.
Truthfully, I still have a ways to go.
Who doesn't?
When Alex was first born I would change his
outfit anytime he got a little spot on it.
Probably changed him 2-3 times daily.
I remember when I was teaching 5th grade
and parents would come in volunteering with their younger
children in tote wearing the craziest outfits.
Honestly, I thought to myself, they MUST have a good Mother
to allow them to wear whatever they want in public.
(Now I know better, they just had the priviledge of wearing whatever
they wanted because they were the youngest! Their mom was too tired
Well, as I said.....
I've come a long way......
I had errands to run today so I told Carter to get dressed.
The other kids were all at school so it was just the two of us.
Carter came out wearing quite the ensemble and announced he was ready.
I couldn't help but laugh.
You would too!

to fight over silly things like clothes!)
I use to battle the kids about what they wear.
Use to..... Well, as I said.....

I thought to myself---

Okay, this is what you are wearing?????????
Orange shirt, one size too small red sweat pants,
cowboy boots and a stuffed snake coiled around your neck as a scarf.
Snake Scarf???
Maybe he is onto something?
I remember people use to wear cockroaches with jewels, right????
Carter told me it was kinda difficult to wear a snake around his neck!

Funny Boy!
I had to take a few pictures and he wasn't too happy about it.
This is his, Mom---- Please STOP taking pictures face.

We made our trip to the fabric store, IKEA, and stopped into School to fill out paperwork for next year and Carter's outfit was noticed by almost all.
He's cute, so he can pull it off.
Carter wanted me to take a picture of just his hand.
I told him I could take one and make him all black
if he stood in front of the door.

He obliged.
