4th Of July

We Celebrated the 4th of July all weekend Long.
First up, we had a BBQ at Aunt Misty's and Uncle Aaron's on Saturday, July 2nd.
The food was awesome!!!!!
Cooked just to perfection!!!
If you like it charred that is.
Misty bought those preformed patties and that was a big mistake.
Huge Grease fire!!!!
The grill was up to 700 degrees and burned our food something fierce!
My mom and I ran to the store and picked up new hamburger.
The really, really, lean kind! LOL
Aaron snapped a family picture
(Minus Hallie who wasn't with us this year)
of all of us in our Old Navy Flag Shirts.
It turned out pretty cute for an IPhone Pic!
We even got Misty's Dog, Daisy, smiling in the photo too!

And one of the kids too!
After we walked down the the  Park and watched the fireworks.
Kris brought silly string and glow in the dark necklaces.
Nadya thought she was being funny and silly stringed Doug's shirt.
After the parade Misty's sweet neighbor offered to give the kids spray on Tattoos!
The kids were excited!
The boys stayed the night and Misty let them stay up until midnight.
(The first time I believe they have made it that late!)
Lucky for her----they got up at 7:00 AM the next morning.
Needless to say, Carter fell asleep the following night at 6:00 out of pure exhaustion!

The morning of the 4th we got up bright and early to watch the Parade.
Nadya was tumbling in it with her gym.
Little miss, "I'm not doing back handsprings on the asphalt, that's C.R.A.Z.Y!!!!!"
Ended up doing the most according to her coach!!
It was a great, cloudy and cool morning for a parade,
but Nadya was still drenched in sweat and completely exhausted by the end of it!
(Nadya  is in the yellow and black)
As for the boys, they enjoyed watching the parade,
but mostly enjoyed catching as much candy as they could.
Which turned out to be way too much Candy for two little boys to consume by themselves,
so Doug and I offered to help.
Our Mayor has perhaps the craziest mustache I've ever seen.
My favorite part by far----(except for the cute, crazy tumbler!)
Later that evening, Kris and Laurence came over and
we joined the rest of our neighbors and lit fireworks.
The boys were the most excited I've ever seen them over lighting fireworks.
They insisted on being right in the middle of it.
They wanted to select which one to light, help light and
then of course they had to discuss it afterwards.
This is the first year that they were so involved.
I couldn't get them to just sit in their seat and watch,
 which I would have preferred.
It really made me nervous, but Doug is pretty good about safety.
And Carter learned his lesson about sniffing stink bombs!!!! LOL
(coughing, choking, watery eyed, lesson that is)
Later that night we walked up the street and watched the fireworks from a short distance.  Our neighbors up the street have an amazing view and they offered to share it with us.  It was pleasant and easy!
